We were delighted to have "Spacing out (extended)" to inaugurate StudioStudio last October 2023. An immersive installation created in a collaboration between visual artist Niina Tervo (FI), sound artist S. Rieser (UK), and choreographers Marie-Louise Stentebjerg (DK) & Ida-Elisabeth Larsen (DK). "Spacing out (extended)" stemmed from our site-specific project "Spacing Out" which was created at, with and for the Lygnhøj Lakes in Roskilde, a former gravel quarry turned into a public space. A wounded land with a history of human extraction, squeezed in between roads and yet brimming with life. A place with a multitude of layers of time and meanings generated both by culture and nature.
With (extended) we wanted to investigate how a site-responsive work would respond itself to an indoors location, sharing it with new visitors.
